Illustration Friday - Slither

This was the first thing that came ot my head!!!

Bath Bombzzzz!

I made this for my Mom because she loves Lush..but the products are so expensive! This one is lavender scented and has little glittery bits in it. It took me a while to get the recipe right. I kept adding too much witch hazel and it kept fizzing up! It probably has more baking soda in it than it should, but this was the only was I could get the mixture to dry up.It smells nice and makes your feet soft..so all is good! I tied a bow aroud it, stuck a jewell on it and put it in a cake case for presentation.

Lady Bug Ring

Pretty Bows and Lady Bug Ring

The black one with the Lady Bug is going to be a necklace...once my chain has come through the post! The pink one with the cat will be a hair clip for my house mate (she is sooooo emo).

The Red rose is a ring that I made from felt and stuch a Lady Bug in the middle to make it extra cute :-)

Tape Measure Rosettes

OK. So it's not an illustration but hey... I saw some funky shoes in the Bullring that had TapeMeasure Rosettes on them. This sparked a little idea into my head..so I rushed off to the rag market and stocked up on tape measures. To my excitement (and I was actually squeeling with joy) they had them in different colours! Yay!
So I started with the big pink one (centre) with a tutorial on youtube. Then I did the blue one (bottom left).
the small ones were done with scraps of measure that I had left, except for the green one. It's quite addictive! They all have badges on the back so can be worn as brooches.
My favourite one that I made was a green one similar to the big blue one. I stuck a Hello Kitty button in the middle. But my house mate has stolen it and is wearing it now as I type...

Illustration Friday - Adrift

At the moment I'm OBSESSED with Totoro. I watched Studio Ghibli's "My neighbour Totoro" the other week and since then I've been mad about him. When I saw that the word for Illustration friday was "adrift" the first thing that came to my head was Totoro. So.... I decided to draw Totoro, with a smaller Totoro on a leaf floating on the water. The leaf idea came from the leaf that he wears as a rain hat, and the smaller Totoro is playing the acorn that they play up in the giant tree. Done in watercolor and pencil.

Focused

As I was waiting to use the computer last night, I got bored and drew this. It was done with a mechanical pencil and nothing else. I'm not sure who she is, but I like her mouth :)
I thought I may as well enter it into Illustration Friday...my first ever entry!
She looks like she's focussing....kinda.....

Beauty

A Froud inspired piece done in 2005. Again, the stoopid scanner cut off half her head .

I am a massive fan of Brian Froud and own most of his books.

I had some hard pastels bought for me for Christmas 2005, so I ended up doing this the day after. I really miss using pastels...I think I should have to invest in some.

Kinky Stilettos

I did this last night with my new pens. The stiletto ballet shoes came from some photographs of porn star Alexis Texas. She is wearing these well kinky shoes that I thought were amazing. Would look a lot better if I could tidy it up with Photoshop...I need to invest in it!

Swallow with cherry blossom

This is a swallow with some cherry blossom done in October 2008.

I drew it just before I had my swallow tattoos on my chest. I was going to design my own swallows and get a good tattoo artist to do them, but I got too impatient and ended up letting some douche bag do his design. Now I'm paying £45.00 every two months for laser removal.

Stoopid scanner at work cut half of it off (I'm not good with technology). When I get my own scanner i shall re-post it :)

Swallows

Swallows done in hard pastel. The one on the left is crappy..

Bows

These are some bows I did in pen and colored pencils.

I LOVE tattoos and would maybe like a bow someday.

My favorite one is the cherry bow. The yellow one isn't finished as I could no longer be bothered to color it in. I shall finish it one day.

Jake

This is a drawing of my old doggie, Jake. He was a staffordshire Bull terrier and the best poochie in the world. I did this from a photograph. Why I did the stupid writing underneath it I'll never know.

Death Hawk Moth

This is a Death Hawk Moth that I did with a pen...I don't have photoshop so it is not perfect. Maybe if Jim taught me how to use it PROPERLY I would be able to edit it ;)
